Biological Research Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
The Biological Research Centre is the major research institution in life sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and one of the prime scientific establishments in south-eastern Hungary. Since the year 2000 it is a Center of Excellence of the European Union. The development of the project is steered by the BRC, and the implementation of the experimental work and molecular modelling is also done by the LP. The LP conducts general management and financial activity by a designated professional team.
The professional team in the BRC consists of 4 professors (D.Sc.): Cs. Bagyinka, A. Berczi, A. Der and L. Zimanyi, one postdoc: B. Leitgeb, and two PhD students. In addition, the project aims to employ two postdocs and one PhD student. The members of the team have published more than 300 peer reviewed articles in international journals, which have received around 5000 independent citations.
The team members have led or participated in numerous domestic and international research projects. They are active members of various international cooperations and have supervised several theses on MSc and PhD level. The team members have widespread experience in organizing domestic and international conferences, workshops and schools.
